Our country will not emerge from the crisis if the main players in political life, all trends combined, do not take seriously the call to repentance which means the recognition of bad acts of governance and the abuse of power which they are the perpetrators and / or victims and they do not make a sincere commitment to renounce them. ” This is why, the DCUD calls Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Republic, head of state and guarantor of the nation, to reflect on the ways to materialise the call to repentance contained in his inauguration speech and on which it is returned during the Mass for the inauguration of the Cardinalate of the Archbishop of Kinshasa. The DCUD, taking advantage of the 30th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela, this February 11, 2020, to challenge the Congolese political class, giving them the example of De Klerk and Mandela, South African leaders, for their country, what Mobutu and Etienne Tshisekedi failed to do for the DR. Congo. Today better than yesterday, maintains, moreover, the DCUD: ” we are like on the eve of 1990. Tensions within the FCC-CACH coalition, the division created among the people by the publication of the results controversial elections, the killings in the eastern provinces, the theft of public money, the deterioration of the living conditions of all of our people, all this will not stop if the nation does not take the right path repentance and forgiveness. To read this call from the DCUD, there is some food for thought.

The DCUD calls on the Head of State to materialise the call for repentance and forgiveness to get the country out of the crisis

February 11, 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela. Two months later, in April, it will be the 30th anniversary of the April 24 speech by which Marshal Mobutu announced the end of the State party and the opening to multipartyism after a year of direct consultation with the people.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell the political class that what the South African leaders – De Klerk and Mandela in mind – had managed to do for their country, ours, Mobutu and Tshisekedi in mind, failed to do for our country.

After long years of confrontation, South Africans have finally opted to repent and forgive themselves. Sincere repentance and forgiveness founded the new South African Republic.

In the DRC, our political leaders have refused to follow this path. They opened the door to war. And, since the blood of the Congolese people continues to flow.

Today, we are as on the eve of 1990. Tensions within the FCC-CACH coalition, the division created among the people by the publication of false election results, the killings in the eastern provinces, the theft of public money, the deterioration of the living conditions of all of our people, all this will not stop if the nation does not properly take the path of repentance and forgiveness.

That is to say, our country will not get out of the crisis if the main actors of political life, all trends combined, do not take seriously the call to repentance which means the recognition of bad acts of governance and the abuses of power of which they are the authors and or the victims and which they do not make a sincere commitment to renounce.

The DCUD calls on the President of the Republic, Head of State and guarantor of the nation to reflect on the ways to materialize the call for repentance contained in his inauguration speech and to which he returned during the mass of the inauguration of the Cardinalate of the Archbishop of Kinshasa.

For the DCUD,
